The Lord's favor...

Fundraiser at John's Supermarket

The favor of the Lord

Here we are again. It seems like I just blinked and we are already in March! To start things off, I had been praying about different ways to raise financial support as I do ministry full-time. Then the Lord, through the Holy Spirit, placed it in my heart to start a series of fundraisers. I prayed and asked him for a location in St' James and He gave me favor with John's Supermarket. The owner allowed me to use her compound and gave me a prime spot under a tent outside of the Supermarket. Some people were shocked that the owner even allowed me to have the Thrift Sale at her establishment. I had to tell them it was the favor of the Lord! I was also able to raise some support for Itnac's recent Mission trip to St'Vincent, by collecting donations and selling their thrift items. Although I did not go on that particular mission trip, I was still able to assist in their fundraising efforts.

Camp Anyone?

Believe it or not, this was my first experience in a carnival camp! I had been praying about serving in a Christian camp for the carnival, instead of just being at home. It was days before carnival, when the Lord worked our everything. I was brought on as counsellor for the camp with Christian Union Church (CUC). The Senior Pastor, is Bishop A. David Chandeler for the St' James location. The camp was held at Urban Ministries in St' Helena. On the first day, everyone got settled in and Leaders/camp Counsellors were assigned to rooms. I was assigned to a room with young girls between the ages of twelve to sixteen (12-16) years. My group of girls were such an awesome group that we were able to share and learn so much from each other.

Daily we would have devotions and it would be a time of prayer, worship, fellowship and sharing the Lord's word. Till All Hear was one of the presenters, and they presented on the need to share the gospel with the unreached people groups (persons who had never heard about Jesus Christ). They also shared about what their Organization entailed. Stefan (the founder) who was the speaker for his Organisation, also prayed with campers and Church leaders.

Games & lots of fun!

There was a session on the New Age Movement and its dangers. There was also a teaching on the doctrinal beliefs of the church and the various distinction of some religions. Campers were placed in different groups based on biblical names and were given daily chores. The groups also had to present based on their assignments. I had to lead devotions on one of the days and I shared on James 1:1-8 where the bible encourages us to count trials as an opportunity to grow and develop in our walk with Christ. The audience were engaged and were very interactive. The camp schedule consisted of pool time, a banquet night, games and lots of activities! They even had a prayer and deliverance session. In addition, Six (6) campers gave their hearts to the Lord! This camp was such a great balance between healthy fun and well delivered spiritual food.
This indeed was a memorable experience and I would encourage anyone to experience it.

Let's Evangelize

We were able to celebrate with our Bahamian family, Pastors Judy and Anton Antoine. They celebrated thirty-two (32) years of marriage this month. Pastor Judy hosted a church /Evangelsitic service in honor of their Anniversary, in her community of St'Ann's. ITNAC was invited to be a part of this service. It was a time of repentance, fellowship, worship and prayer. The gospel was preached and an altar call was made. Even personal testmonies were shared to encourage others to give their lives to Christ. Persons seemed to be very attentive for the service. We also had a few gospel artise such as Sterlin Roberts & Jaron Nurse.

Pastor Anton & Judy Antoine's outreach

For the past few months I have been going to Laventille with I AM Has Sent Me Ministries, to evangelize in the community of Laventille. Sister Patsy who lives in the community started this initiative and she is such a warm, loving and caring person. The time spent there usually consists of sharing the gospel, bringing the word, praise, worship and fellowship. We had set up in Blundell Avenue and Sister Ruby and Brother Mapp allowed us to use their premises to host this evangelism. This evangelism is usually every third Sunday of the month.

Two Events in One Day

Repairer of Hearts Foundation (ROHF) was founded by Ms Kimline Phillip. They are a non-profit organization whose core focus is to reach the at-risk and displaced persons within Trinidad & Tobago. They exist to advocate, educate and provide social assistance and shelter for vulnerable persons.
I volunteered for their Thrift Clothing Drive and the entrance fee was only $20.00. Persons were able to take any amount of items. The Organization were very professional and started promptly on time, which I appreciated. Ms Kimline and her team did a great job in planning and executing this event. This was such a great initiative and I was very impressed.

Immediately after, I had to attend a seminar that focuses on working alongside and sharing the gospel with a religious group in our country. It was very informative and we even received a certificate for bein in attendance.

AEBC Ladies Retreat

I was nominated to be on the AEBC Ladies Committee by a fellow church member. I was a bit hesitant at first, because of my hectic work schedule, but eventually accepted it. We had the retreat at victory Heights Camp and it was indeed a day well spent. We had persons that came and spoke on health, wellness, mental health, etc. Pastor Brenda brought the word and she was on point. The prayer, fellowship, praise and worship was such a blessing. I had a blast! We even had some fun activities. It was my first experience being on the committee and experiencing an event with the ladies and boi oh boi, I enjoyed it.

CUC Prayer Meeting

As of lately, I have been going to Christian Union Church on a Wednesday for their prayer service from 11am until about 12:30pm. It is mainly worship, prayer and sharing of the Lord's word. One Wednesday of the month they would assist persons in need by distributing hampers and sharing the love of Christ. They would allow the person to take in the prayer service first, and then distribute the hampers. They are not just giving physical food but also spiritual food as well. And to be honest, spiritual food is definitely needed. I really do admire the heart of the Pastor and what they are doing for the Lord's kingdom.

In closing,  I want to encourage believers to not lose hope. Our hope is in Christ Jesus. I also would like to encourage those who do not know the Lord to seek Christ while he may be found. The hour is approaching and no one knows the time or the hour when the Lord will return.

Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And he will have mercy on him; And to our God, For he will abundantly pardon.

Mark 13:32
"But about that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
