Ministry in Three Countries

 Trinidad & Tobago Ministry

Christian Union Church-VBS

In Trinidad, I was privileged to assist two (2) churches with their Vacation Bible School (VBS). First was Christian Union Church, Shekinah Place (CUC) in St. James. They partnered with Camp Glorious for their 2023 VBS. Camp Glorious provided a one-day training for all the teachers. Those who attended the training were given teacher's manuals for their respective churches to distribute.

There were different age groups, and the children were later given workbooks to complete their activities in camp. I worked as a teacher with eight to ten (8-10) year olds alongside another teacher. Our age group were one of the larger groups, and I thank God there were two of us! The children completed various activities, such as prayer training, character building, craft, young entrepreneurship, etc.

One of my most memorable moments was the aerobics time. The children requested that I join in with the aerobics, and we all did it together.

To have experienced those children's joy and willingness throughout the (5) five days really warmed my heart.

Chaguanas Evangelical Bible Church- VBS

On to the second church, Chaguanas Evangelical Bible Church (CEBC). This is also my home church. For their VBS, I assisted with the teams. My team's ages ranged from thirteen to fifteen (13-15) years. There were games, trivia, worship, ministry topics and so on. At first, the teens appeared to be very timid. But they eventually became acquainted with each other as the days progressed. Most of them were engaged in virtually all the topics, which brought encouragement to everyone.

Great Commission Bible Church/ TGJ Program

I was thrilled to have worked as an assistant teacher with Great Commission Bible Church (GCBC). They partnered with Samaritan's Purse on The Greatest Journey (TGJ) discipleship program. This program was geared towards evangelism, discipleship and multiplication of the gospel of Jesus Christ with children in the community. There were a total of twelve (12) lessons that were completed in roughly under two (2) months. At the beginning of the program, the children received Samaritan's purse shoe boxes filled with lots of goodies.

The program included memory verses, games, worship, group lessons, etc. The children demonstrated great enthusiasm and gratitude right through.

I was astonished by the dedication of all the teachers, assistants and volunteers for the duration of this program.

There was a graduation ceremony at the end. The children received certificates and were very happy.

This program was compelling and effective. I would highly recommend it.

Glad Tidings Bible Camp

First of all, let me say that Vincy has many winding roads. From when I left the Airport until I reached the campsite, it felt like I was passing along the Lady Young road in Trinidad.

I went on a mission trip with I  Am Has Sent Me ministries. I was a counsellor for the Glad Tidings Bible Camp (GCBC) senior camp. It was also their fiftieth anniversary as a camp. To me, that was a remarkable milestone.

I Am has Sent Me (Team)

There were a total of fifty-four (54) senior campers ranging from ages thirteen to nineteen (13-19). The camp consisted of small meetings or prayer. The small meetings/prayers were to discuss and pray about issues from the previous day. They also had callisthenics- a big word for exercise, games, dorm devotions, Chapel, group prayer, and more.

My dorm was named Elsa, and we had four (4) counsellors. Our dorm bonded well, and I was very grateful. The dorm devotion was more personalized. We would pray together, and the girls would share their struggles, strengths, and what impacted them the most.

Chapel was a significant part of the camp schedule. Uncle Rodney was the camp speaker throughout the senior's camp. His messages were powerful, and they resonated with the listeners. The campers were placed in different teams to assist with various responsibilities. I was also put in a team to work with a group. You know they were seniors, so they had to get a little extra push to complete their duties.

Moving on to the Community Outreach and Fitness Walk. We walked into one of the communities closest to the campsite. There were packages prepared for the children, along with evangelistic tracks. They were distributed, and many received prayer, encouragement and the love of Christ.

The Fitness walk included a walk to the old Airport, which was formerly known as E.T Joshua Airport and is now known as E.T Josua Center.

While walking, I observed the country was very hilly, with many huge houses.

After we walked for a while, some of us were thirsty and needed to remember to carry water! Then, out of nowhere, a few people stopped and bought us cases of water. Uncle Tom, the (Camp Chairman) knew the people. That was definitely the Lord's favour!

We visited Questelles, aka Miami Beach, and the campers had a blast. While conversing, I noticed Vincy people had a polite way about them; when asked a question requiring a yes or no response, they would respond with either  "yes please" or "no please". I found it to be cute and polite.

I was allowed to lead two (2) bible study sessions in our family/group devotions. To my surprise, many campers were interactive, and they asked many questions. I shared a short part of my testimony, and they appreciated my vulnerability and honesty.

There was a campfire where most of us joined a circle, reflected and shared what the Lord had done in our lives. It was one of my most memorable experiences.

Six (6) persons accepted Christ, and four (4) rededicated their lives to Christ for the camp duration.
All praise to the Lord for his working power!

All campers and counsellors received tokens of appreciation from the camp. It was a very thoughtful and kind gesture. This camp was memorable and impactful. I made many friends and gained another church family.

When the camp ended,  A few of us and some locals visited various parts of the island. Which included River 14, Dark View Falls, Bequia and others. The time spent overall was splendid. I am very grateful to all who took time out of their schedule to be a blessing. Thank you, and it was greatly appreciated.
May the Lord shower you with an abundance of kindness.

Barbados Ministry

The Gospel Hall's United Bible Camp

Have you ever planned one mission trip and ended up on two? Well, that's what happened to me. While  I was in St.Vincent, the Lord opened a door for me to serve as a counsellor for The Gospel Hall's United Bible Camp. This camp was held at Eastern Caribbean Bible Camp (ECBC)  in Ruby, St. Phillip, Barbados.

I was blown away by how the Lord provided and worked out everything. First, we had a counsellor's meeting where we would share our thoughts or concerns about the previous day. We would also pray about those matters. It had a  total of 68 camper's, ages ranging from 7-18 years. We had exercise, dorm devotions, worship sessions, morning sessions, games, interactive bible study, and so much more.

Interactive Bible study session

They had a team from Guyana, and Aunty Teckler and I were the only ones from Trinidad & Tobago. The speaker was from Guyana, and his name was Tyrese. He spoke clearly and was right on point with his preaching.

There were also team duties and dorm inspections. Our dorn was called "Fall"; Our campers were between fourteen to sixteen years old (14 - 16). I was stunned by the camper's bravery, boldness and courage when faced with challenges.

One person was reported to have given their life to Christ for this camp. All honour and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.

There were team competitions such as songs, drama, creative pieces, etc. The teams were heavily competitive, and practically all teams worked diligently at their responsibilities.
There was also a sports session, and the teams were fierce, excited and determined to win. It was a wonderful day.

Let the games begin.

There was a craft session, and the pieces were done Beautifully. A few other counsellors and I assisted them in making some of the details for the craft pieces. The campers were so proud of their work.

Beautiful crafts, indeed!

On one of the days, the entire camp had devotions at King George the 5th Park. We actually walked from the campsite to the Park. It was about a 10-minute walk. Seeing a difference in scenery was refreshing for the campers and counsellors.

There was also a visitor evening where the parents came and visited the campers before the camp ended. The campers and counsellors entertained the parents with songs, poems, dramas, etc. The parents enjoyed the entertainment of the campers.

On the last day of camp, prizes were given to campers from the different teams.

As I interacted with the Bajan people, I observed that they were straightforward and honest. They, too, say "yes please" or "no please" when asked a question requiring a yes or no answer. Which is simply adorable.  Also, the country was very flat, and the beaches were gorgeous.

After the camp ended, we were blessed to be treated on a country tour. On another day, we visited Oistins and Pebbles Beach. A local took me to Brandon's Beach/water park. I had so much fun that my body was sore for days!

I am eternally grateful to all who took the time to make my experience fun, loving and unforgettable. Thank you very much.
May the Lord's grace and favour be upon you always.

To my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, this experience would not have been possible without you.
Thank you very much. I pray that your name will be honoured and glorified wherever I go.

Although only some were mentioned, I tried my best to summarize my ministry experiences to make this blog post shorter.

I hope you enjoyed reading, and feel free to leave a comment!
